- SUSTAINABILITY
San Donato Milanese (Milan), 13 September 2012 – Eni has been confirmed, for the sixth consecutive year, in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, which is one of the leading international sustainability indexes.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index, launched in 1999, includes companies that are characterized by excellent results in terms of economic, social and environmental performance, highlighting the leading companies in terms of sustainability for each sector.
Eni has also received recognition from the Carbon Performance Leadership Index 2012 (CPLI) by the Carbon Disclosure Project. Eni, the only Energy sector representative in the Index, has been selected for the action it is taking to reduce emissions and mitigate risks of climate change.
The Carbon Disclosure Project is an international not-for-profit organization, representing 655 international institutional investors, which provides the only global system available for companies and local public administrations to measure, disclose, manage, and share vital environmental data.
This year, the Carbon Performance Leadership Index consists of 33 international companies selected by PwC for demonstrating clear strategies regarding climate change and reducing emissions. The companies have been selected from the 500 largest companies by market capitalization in the world (the FTSE Global Equity 500).
