We make our knowledge available to students by sharing our technical knowledge with various Italian universities so that it can be integrated into Master's degrees focused especially on the energy industry. Because today's students may become Eni people tomorrow.
An overview of the accessible programmes.
Partner: University of Pisa.
Purpose: The master's degree program trains geophysicists with a solid multidisciplinary scientific preparation and a strong aptitude for problem solving.
The course provides the student with:
·solid foundations of mathematics and physics;
·advanced computational and numerical skills;
·theoretical and practical knowledge of the main geophysical survey methods - seismic, electrical, electromagnetic, gravimetric, radar methods - and rock physics and analysis and interpretation of well data.
The skills acquired are used in various areas of geophysics which, among others, include the characterization of the subsoil, the exploration of georesources and the mitigation of geological/environmental risks.
Duration: 2 academic years
Programme: courses are held at the University of Pisa, in English, supplemented by seminars provided by Eni experts and international personalities from the academic and industrial world.
The program includes laboratory activities (i.e., programming in Python and Matlab and processing of geophysical data), exercises on the solution of inverse problems, on applications of machine learning and seismic imaging techniques, and also includes geophysical campaigns with acquisition and subsequent processing of seismic, magnetic, radar, gravimetric, electric and electromagnetic data.
Thanks to a partnership between the University of Pisa and the Montan University of Leoben (Austria), students will also be able to carry out a semester of study at the Montan University and obtain a Double Degree. Internships at Eni are also planned for selected students aimed at drafting the Master's degree thesis.
Participants: first level graduates in geology, physics, mathematics and engineering or with an equivalent or higher qualification, also obtained abroad, and recognised as suitable, are admitted.
For more information on the programme, admission requirements and enrollment procedures, visit the study program website or send an e-mail to gea@dst.unipi.it
