In August 2024, we closed the sale of Nigerian Agip Oil Company Ltd (NAOC Ltd), while maintaining our presence in the country through Nigerian Agip Exploration (NAE) and Agip Energy and Natural Resources (AENR). This transaction was made possible by the agreement signed in September 2023 between Eni and Oando PLC, and the formal approval received in July 2024 from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), along with all other necessary authorisations from the relevant local and regulatory authorities.
The Green River Project (GRP) is an integrated agricultural initiative that was set up with the aim of contributing to local economic development and improving the quality of life of communities in the Delta, Imo, Rivers and Bayelsa States. The GRP aims to ensure food safety and sustainable entrepreneurship by involving local farmers and developing the potential of women and young people.

Through partnerships with international research institutes, we are developing projects within our concessional areas. Thanks to the feasibility studies by the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), we have raised awareness around opportunities in the agricultural sector since the late 1990s. The Green River Project, promotes programmes that foster employment, establishes cooperative societies and associations, and provides practical information on the use of agricultural products.
The GRP involves the population by ensuring greater availability of food and easier access to financial services. Through a microcredit programme for young people and women, the Green River Project aims to encourage the economic growth and promote banking habits of the communities.
Based on a comprehensive Agricultural Extension Service Delivery system (AESD), the GRP aims to increase agricultural productivity in the Niger Delta and to prevent further deterioration of the soil through the use of better farming techniques. It also aims to enhance farmer incomes, and thereby the quality of life of farmers, through the adoption of improved and sustainable farming systems. In addition, soil analysis, fertilization plans and soil conservation are carried out to minimize the environmental footprint.
