Kigali (Rwanda), 5 November 2021 – The CEO of Eni, Claudio Descalzi, has met with the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, to discuss possible collaboration in the fields of energy transition and circular economy in a regional perspective. The Minister of Trade and Industry Mrs Beata Habyarimana also took part in the meeting.
Mr. Descalzi and President Kagame discussed how to leverage Rwanda’s strong agricultural expertise with projects in the agro-industrial chain, such as cultivating crops to produce agrofeedstock for bio refining.
Other topics of discussion included joint research and development initiatives in the fields of energy transition, and possible investments in the area of forestry conservation and the protection of endangered species.
