Eni Vietnam and Operation Smile Vietnam partner to provide free surgeries for children

Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), 18 June 2024 - Eni Vietnam has partnered with Operation Smile, the international medical charity committed to performing free surgical care to children and young adults with cleft conditions, to provide free surgeries to 43 children in Ho Chi Minh City. This initiative reflects Eni Vietnam’s dedication to supporting global health initiatives and community welfare in the countries of operation.

The mission was hosted by the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology of Ho Chi Minh City, where a team of more than 60 medical staff performed 43 surgeries on children under 6 years old. Non-medical volunteers from the Hospital, Operation Smile and Eni Vietnam employees have supported the medical team in the logistic and administrative organization of the mission.

A second medical mission supported by Eni Vietnam is scheduled in late 2024.

Eni Vietnam has been present in Vietnam since 2012 and is active in exploration activities in Phu Khanh and Song Hong basin, offshore central Vietnam. Eni Vietnam cooperates with Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (MARD) and Quang Tri province in identifying initiatives in the fields of agri-feedstock and carbon credit generation from nature-based and technology-based carbon offset solution. Eni is a global energy company operating in over 60 countries. The company aims at achieving net-zero by 2050 for its products and operations, with the goal of a fair and inclusive transition.
