Five startups have been awarded a €10,000 grant under the Kenya Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program (KAEP). The final event of the six-month training course was held on 30 October in Nairobi. Ten startups spoke about their innovative solutions to support the development of sustainable agriculture in Kenya. A jury of experts, including investors, mentors, and stakeholders from the agritech sector, selected the five finalists that received the cash award. The programme was delivered by Joule in collaboration with E4Impact and with the support of Eni Kenya.

Those present included: Enrico Tavolini, Managing Director of Eni Kenya, Mattia Voltaggio, Head of Joule, Mario Molteni, CEO of the E4Impact Foundation, David Cheboryot, Director of E4Impact Entrepreneurship Centers, and Isabella Tenai, E4Impact Accelerator Manager.

“The opportunities provided by the programme go beyond winning,” explained Enrico Tavolini. “If the idea is valid, there can be many paths and opportunities for growth.” For Mattia Voltaggio, the role that human capital plays in a company is fundamental. "Our goal,” he says ”is to transform entrepreneurial efforts in order to generate an economic and social impact on the country.”
