The second edition of the Kenya Agribusiness Entrepreneurship program, where innovation meets agriculture for a more sustainable future, has been launched.

All Kenyan companies wishing to contribute to the transformation of the country's agricultural landscape through an innovative project using new technologies can apply and participate in the selection phase until 9 March 2024

The initiative, supported by Joule, the Eni school of entrepreneurship, in collaboration with E4Impact, was launched with the dual objective of contributing to the sustainable development of new agricultural supply chains and having a tangible impact on the economic and social fabric of the area by supporting local innovation proposals in the agritech area.

More than 200 startups applied for the last edition. At the end of the program, three startups (FarmerLifeLine Technologies, FarmIT and Koch Food Waste Management Champions) were awarded a grant of €10,000 each for startup support services.

Kenya is an agricultural country, and the sector plays a key role for the country both in terms of GDP and employment. In this context, Eni has developed a separate vertical integration model for the production of vegetable oil to supply the Gela and Venice biorefineries. In this way, the development of local communities is promoted and a sustainable raw material for the global energy market is secured.
