A delegation from Mozambique to the Rome Advanced District (ROAD)

As part of a roadshow in Italy, officials from the African country's Ministry of Science and Technology visited the Gazometro area in Rome Ostiense.

A delegation of officials from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (MCTES) was hosted in the Gazometro area of Roma Ostiense as part of a roadshow organised in Italy to explore the main hubs of technological innovation. It was a key stop that offered the African delegation the opportunity to visit the Rome Advanced District (ROAD), the capital's new innovation hub, the Eni 2050 lab, which houses prototypes of Eni's main technologies for the energy transition, and the headquarters of Joule, the Eni school of entrepreneurship. The roadshow in Italy was organised by AGID, the Agency for Digital Italy.
Those present included: Nilsa Sandra Miquidade, Permanent Secretary of MCTES, Orlando Ernesto Sulumide Zobra, President of the Board of Directors of the National Science and Technology Park Company, José Luís Sambo, National Director of Information Systems, Studies and Projects at MCTES, Alberto Arminido Maria Tonela, National Director of Planning, Statistics and Cooperation at MCTES, Benjamim Enosse Langa, Head of the Department of Studies and Projects at MCTES, Antonio Archetti, Agency for Cooperation and Development official, Maputo office, Alcinda da Costa Salvado, Diplomatic Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Mozambique, Mauro Draoli, Agid official, Federico Abramo, Agid official and Enrico de Grazia, Agid official.

During the meeting at Gazometro in Roma Ostiense, the Mozambican ministry officials were also introduced to dock3 – The Startup Lab, the training and incubation programme for startups, partner of CTE - Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti di Roma Capitale, recognised by the Ministry of Economic Development as a national model for innovative entrepreneurship training.
It trains 100 young entrepreneurs and 15 new startups every year, introducing them to Italian and international accelerators and venture capital funds.
Since 2018, dock3 has continued the work started in 2010 by InnovAction Lab, a pioneering startup training programme in Italy that has produced hundreds of startups, several of which are now established companies.
