The aim of the RoboPitch competition, which is open to teams of researchers and start-ups and is promoted by the Italian National Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Machines (I-RIM), is to encourage the growth of new technology transfer projects in the field of robotics.

There is still time to apply: the deadline is 22 September. Teams are required to submit a pitch deck, which will be used to present their project idea, a business plan and a CV.

The shortlisted project ideas will be presented to the competition jury during the Maker Faire event on 20 October. Now in its tenth edition, the event has become a reference point for all innovators, offering them the opportunity to engage with an audience of international investment funds, innovation hubs, universities and representatives from the academic and research world.

The panel of judges, made up of representatives of ROAD (Rome Advanced District), will base its decisions on a series of criteria, such as the originality and creativity of the invention or innovation in the field of robotics, whether or not patents have been filed or granted, the expertise and composition of the research team, and any existing collaborations with universities or research organisations, including through the creation of spin-off companies.
