Coral South has made possible numerous projects for the sustainable development of the Mozambican territory

In agreement with local partners and institutions, Eni is committed to promoting sustainable development in Mozambique, in line with the UN’s SDGs and Eni's “dual flag” approach, based on identifying the needs of the communities in the areas where it operates.

Access to education: Eni launched training programmes, built school facilities and awarded scholarships.

Clean energy: “improved cooking hobs” were produced in Pemba to reduce air pollution as opposed to burning wood to cook food, thereby benefiting deforestation.

Economic growth: increased local entrepreneurship/employment. We started business workshops with the support of the Government of Mozambique, NGOs and suppliers involved in the project.

Hunger/Welfare and Health: in response to the severe crisis caused by the ongoing conflict in the Cabo Delgado Province and worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic, Eni offered direct support to the population with food parcels, sanitation kits, access to energy and school supplies. To counter the pandemic, we ran prevention and awareness programmes, improved the emergency room at Pemba hospital and introduced health screenings.
