Eni Foundation supports Ponte del Sorriso in Romania
In Romania, Eni Foundation contributes to the restructuring of the “Sanatoriul Balneoclimateric de Copii” children’s health center in Bustini, which the association “Ponte del Sorriso” launched in cooperation with the Romanian Government’s Department for social assistance and protection of children. The initiative is part of a wider program aimed at supporting the Breaza health centre, 30km from Busteni, which takes care of orphaned and abandoned children, many of whom suffering from mental and physical disabilities.
Once completed, the health facility, which is located 130 km from Bucharest and is one of five centers around the Country specialized in children neuromotor rehabilitation, will be able to provide more effective medical care for the children of the Breaza Orphanage. In particular, Eni Foundation’s contribution has been used to refurbish the hydrotherapy pool, an indispensable tool in the neuromotor rehabilitation of children.

Ponte del sorriso
The Association “Ponte del sorriso”, was founded in 2002 by the Italian trade union organization UIL and the Fundatia Sistema Italia Romania, with the aim of helping children in Romania suffering from physical, psychological, economic, social and family hardship.
Projects completed in recent years include: the creation of a free meals service for needy children in Bucharest and the restructuring of the Breaza orphanage and the medical care for the more than 100 disabled patients of the center.
