Scientific Committee

Graduated in 1970 in Medicine and Surgery, he specialized in Radiology and Occupational Medicine/Health and has been an Associate Professor of Experimental Radiology since 1980.

His current appointments include: Professor of Radiology at the University of Padua (since 1990); Director of the Department of Diagnostic Science and Special Therapies, and Director of the Specialization School of Radio-diagnostics.

Since 1 March 2006 he has been an Extraordinary Commissioner of the Oncological Institute of Veneto (IRCCS).

He is also a member of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), the Radiation Protection Committee of the European Association of Radiology (EAR), as well as a range of national and international scientific associations.

He is President of ASCUR (Association for the Development of Culture and Research), Director of the Italian Federation of Radiation Research, as well as an expert on the National Commission for the "Continuous Education in Medicine" Program of the Italian Ministry of Health.

From 2000 to 2002, he was Vice President of the Italian Radiology Association (SIRM).

He is the author of some 300 scientific papers, including 6 monographic volumes.

He has been a member of a number of bodies, including: the High Commission on Health, the Technical Committee of the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and the Environment (ENEA), the Advisory Committees for Research Funds for the Italian Ministry of Education, and the Board of Directors of the Italian Center for Social and Health Research.
