Eni imposes high standards of safety and protection for the staff, plant and territory in which it operates. In 2010 the injury frequency rates decreased both for employees and for contractors.
Eni considers the protection of health a fundamental prerequisite and actively promotes the psychological and physical well-being of its staff. In 2010 expenditure for health amounted to 57.75 million euro.
The Welfare Project, started in 2007, allowed to carry out a number of initiatives to support our staff. In 2010 Eni's Nursery school was inaugurated in San Donato Milanese.
What we now call sustainability, is what the people of eni - who live in a world of different languages and cultures - have always called work.

The Eni system of Knowledge Management is made up of 53 active communities of practice; the members of the communities have risen from 1,827 to 2,624.
Since its foundation in 1957 the Scuola Mattei has trained over 2,500 young people, 55% of which coming from over 100 foreign countries.
