Throughout the month of February, a number of integrated initiatives took place in Agip KCO. A group of experts from the Caspian International Seal Survey together with the involved functions of Agip KCO personnel delivered training and information to increase awareness of effects of the vessels' and potential impact on seals' population and discussed possible mitigation measures.
The importance of biodiversity awareness in oil industry shipping was highlighted again during Logistics Operations Marine Contractors HSE Forum. This year's seals research programme includes the icebreaker study and aerial survey of Caspian seals. The Seal project was launched way back in 2005 by Agip KCO in co-operation with Kazakhstani and international stakeholders.
