SUSTAINABILITY
COP 2009
In 2009 Eni decided to integrate the principles of the Global Compact (GC) into its Sustainability Report which thus becomes the COP core. The GC logo is used to identify initiatives related to at least one of the principles. In particular:
- The company’s commitment to the principles of the GC are underlined by Eni’s CEO in his letter of presentation of the Sustainability Report;
- The dialogue between P. Scaroni and J.D. Sachs deals with the role of companies in the pursuit of the Millennium Development Goals;
- The integration between the company’s strategies for sustainable development and the principles of the GC is outlined in the chapter “Building the Future of Energy” and summarized in a table of highlights for individual areas;
- A table is available showing the correspondence between GRI indicators, the chapters of the Sustainability Report and the GC principles
