Unique in its kind in Italy, the Green Data Center project foresees the unification of all Eni's IT systems for data processing and High Performance Computing, with the goal of improving energy efficiency, optimize costs and help reducing CO2 emissions.

For the fifth year in a row, Eni’s position has been confirmed, in the first and most prestigious international sustainability index, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. A demonstration of the integrated nature of the company’s business and the across-the-board commitment to sustainable development.
Operating sustainably means creating value for stakeholders and using resources in such a way as to avoid compromising the needs of future generations, respecting the individual, the environment and society as a whole.
Commitments, Results and Objectives
Here are some of our objectives 2011-2014:
Promote adequate representation of gender diversity in corporate bodies of the Company; complete the project for communicating safety issues, targeted at 35,000 Eni’s people; spread the principles of Sustainability within the supply chain.
In 2010 Eni launched a new form of Sustainability reporting which provides a wider range information to a broader and diverse audience.

The Areas for Improvement represent the Company's Sustainability objectives and are a preliminary operating tool for identifying the Sustainability projects.
Eni identifies, monitors and manages the main risks related to its business activities.

Eni was first included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index in 2007 and its position has been confirmed in 2011.
Eni’s action plan to mitigate climate change is mainly based on gas flaring reduction and energy efficiency promotion.

Eni has been the first Italian company to join the initiative in 2001 and in 2011 joined the LEAD platform.

In the past years Eni has actively taken part in the fight against corruption by expressly prohibiting in its Code of Ethics.

Eni was one of the first European companies to create a Business Code of Conduct. The first version dates back to 1994.
