Heating Gas Oil

 

The applicative needs and, therefore, specific to the use of gasoil in stationary combustion, are less severe compared to those for automobiles. Gasoil for heating, in fact, differs from the automotive product in three aspects:

  • It has a higher sulphur content
    (0,2% vs. 0,035%)
  • It is “higher-boiling‘
    (T95 not indicated vs. max 360°C)
  • The cetane number is not indicated in the specification
    (automotive min. 51).

For gasoil for heating, each country has its own specification. In Italy, UNI-CTI 6759 is in force.
