Umberto Bertelè professor of planning strategy in Politecnico di Milano: after restructuring, Eni tackled the privatisation process and international competition. It went on growing and improving its economic and financial results, thanks to market strategies and management policies in sharp contrast with the past and open to new goals and perspectives for the future.
To enhance professional skills: this is the foremost objective of the group's policies, because each strategy hinges on developing and managing human resources.

The reportage is dedicated to Eni' activities. By gradual growth at an international level in the past few years Eni expanded the value of its oil and gas business. But it also attained another objective: being a main player in international industry and global development.

The new premises of the Historical Archive of the Eni group have been opened at Pomezia, near Rome. The archive preserves the group's memory and guards the testimonies of its development and evolution.
