The need to drastically lower greenhouse gas emissions calls for prompt and innovative technological answers.
Technological innovation offers important solutions to the struggle against climate change through two main ways: developing tools which allow higher energy efficiency, therefore reducing energy consumption, and assuring the use of potentially "zero emissions" fossil sources.
Increasing energy efficiency is an objective every Country shares and the technology needed to reach it is already partially available.
On the contrary, knocking down emissions produced by fuels calls for an original approach and the development of innovative technologies. That is the only alternative to satisfy world energy demand in an economically and environmentally sustainable way, also taking into account the limited contribution that alternative energies will be able to provide at least for the next few decades.
