On October 29, 2009, the authorization deadline for buyback, provided for by the Shareholders' Meeting resolution of April 29, 2008, expired.  As at the same date, a total amount of 398,466,853 Eni's shares (9.95% of Eni share capital) were purchased, for a total cost of about € 6.97 billion.

Eni's treasury shares amount to n. 382,607,833 (9.55% of Eni share capital).
