He has been Director of Eni S.p.A. since June 2008.

After graduating in Business Administration in 1984 at the Luigi Bocconi University, Milan, he qualified as a professional accountant and auditor in 1985.

He is professor of Accounting and Financial Reporting at the Luigi Bocconi University, Milan.

He is founder partner of Borghesi Colombo & Associati, a consultancy firm specialized in corporate finance, M&A, strategy and corporate governance.

He is Director of Mediaset S.p.A. and Ceresio SIM, Chairman of the Statutory Board of Aviva Vita S.p.A. and GE Capital Interbanca S.p.A., member of the Statutory Board of A. Moratti S.a.p.a., Humanitas Mirasole S.p.A. and Credit Agricole Assicurazioni Italia Holding S.p.A.

He was member of the Board of Statutory Auditors of Eni S.p.A. from May 2002 to May 2005, of which he has assumed the charge of Chairman of the Board of Statutory Auditor from May 2005 to May 2008.
