What is Eni's approach to local communities?
Eni promotes open consultation having informed local communities and adopting an inclusive approach that aims to ensure the transparency of its operations and the efficiency and effectiveness of the transfer of value generated by its investments in any given area.
At a local level, procedures and systems for the management of community relations are put in place, often with the creation of ad hoc bodies involving local representatives of both Eni and the communities. Territorial forums for the continuity management of relations are generally organised in groups of multi-stakeholders that include representatives from the local communities, civil society and Eni. In Pakistan these are known as Village Development Organisations, in Ecuador
Foro de Buena Vecindad, in Basilicata
Missione di Comunità. Different names but with the same aims, that of the open participation of the population and the identification of solutions to improve their conditions in order to ensure inclusive development.
All projects and initiatives in support of communities are designed and realised within the context of an inclusive local action strategy, defined by the players in the territory with transparency guaranteed by procedures and rules that are established at corporate level.
