Eni guarantees the sustainability of its activities through a model for its processes that cuts across all corporate functions, is oriented to innovation and the attainment of long-term objectives and through the evaluation and management of the risks that contribute to their prevention or mitigation.
On the basis of the needs of interest-holders and an analysis of the results achieved across the principal sustainable development issues, areas for improvement are identified. This makes it possible to define the actions that are described in the section dedicated to sustainability in the company's four-year Strategic Plan. The projects that contribute to resolving the areas for improvement are identified along with all of the functions within the company that will have the task of seeing them through and are monitored by special indicators and reporting mechanisms .
The company's leading decision-makers – who make up the Executive Committee - andEni's Board of Directors have ultimate responsibility for the company's sustainable development strategies. This enables Eni to state that sustainability is a fully integrated element in the management system, as well as in the company's relations and communication.
The processes for the reporting of sustainability, as well as relations with stakeholders and the territories, are run by a dedicated department that reports to the head of institutional relations and communications The focus and references of sustainability are identified in every company function and at the Divisional level.Contacts and Structure.
