At the end of 2010 there were 79,941 people working at Eni, an increase of almost 3% on the previous year. Workers abroad account for almost 58% of the total staff. These are the almost 46,000 non-Italians, in addition to almost 22,000 from the joint ventures. 35,000 Eni people work in developing countries and almost 13,000 are women. The average age of Eni staff abroad is lower than in Italy (39 compared with 44).
During 2010,3,123 Italian expatriates worked abroad, to which should be added around 500 working at non-consolidated subsidiaries.
