What is the state of progress in environmental certification within the company?

Most of Eni's management systems at operating units have achieved ISO 14001 certification. In particular:
- In the Exploration & Production division, out of a total of 39 certifiable companies, 23 obtained ISO 14001 certification;
- In the petrochemical, refining and power generation sectors(with the exception of the new Ferrara plant) ISO 14001 certification was completed for all production plants.
In Europe, Eni's main production facilities have applied for EMAS certification. The R&M sector implemented an energy management system at the Venice refinery which led it to becoming the first Italian industrial site to obtain ISO 16001 certification in December 2010. In the next few years the certification programme will be extended to other refineries and the company is currently assessing its extension to other sectors.
