FAQ - REFINING & MARKETING

Can LPG-driven vehicles be parked in underground car parks?

Modern LPG-driven vehicles, both conversions and bi-fuel vehicles purchased after 2001, can be parked in underground, public or private, indoor or outdoor car parks and garages. In fact, since 2001, LPG tanks and fuel systems are fitted with active safety mechanisms that minimise the risk of explosion or leakage, making it safe to park vehicles also in multi-story and underground car parks. A decree of 22 November 2002 from the Interior Ministry allows all LPG vehicles with a safety system that complies to the ECE/ONU n.67/01 Regulation to park on the first underground floor of multi-story car parks, even when connected to other underground floors.
