Gas & Power Fond

The Gas & Power fond contain all the documents relating to Snam and to its subsidiary and associated companies. The 2,200 units of archive material cover a period from the 1920s (with papers relating to Same) up to the 1990s. The bulk of the material relates to Snam and Immobiliare Metanopoli, but there are also documents and the company's books relating to Snam such as Immobiliare il Quinto, Immobiliare Monte d'oro, Isvet, Laboratori Riuniti Studi e Ricerche, Metano Borgomanero, Metano Casalpusterlengo, Oleodotti internazionali, Same and Seredit.
 
The most historically and culturally interesting documents relate to Snam, including the company's books that enable us to reconstruct the history of the company and its links with the methane-producing history of Italy thanks to the construction of methane gas pipelines and to the marketing and distribution of natural gas. There is also a series of contracts for the supply of natural gas to Italian industry by Agip on behalf of Snam beginning in 1946, and subsequently directly by Snam as from 1971.
