Gathered together in the 16th century rooms of the Palazzo Te, more than one hundred masterpieces from across Europe illustrate the history of Greek art in Italy, a feature of central significance in the thousand year contact and exchange that defined the artistic culture of the Mediterranean.
While not being a linear process, three successive phases have been identified which correspond to a section of the exhibition and constitutes an enormously fascinating account from the early contacts through development to point of arrival.
